News and updates

Carol singing and Christmas card. Usually our biggest fund-raising event of the year, we have organised this for many years underground at Oxford Circus tube. As of 1st September, this is looking impossible due to Covid restrictions and we are still investigating / considering whether an alternative approach and an outdoor venue might be feasible. All still 'tbc'. So please check back in due course or register for our email updates so we can let you know and if you have any suggestions for a Christmas fundraiser do please get in touch!

One thing we already have in preparation is a Christmas card with a beautiful new image. Might your church or charity be able to help sell them? Contact us if so. And check back to this website in the near future for more details and how you can buy cards this year.

Speaker meeting. We usually host one meeting a year and the next one will not be before early 2021. We will be looking very carefully at what can be done in the light of the continuing Covid restrictions, and it may be that we will look to livestream a meeting rather than necessarily bringing people together for it. The Trustees will be considering this further in the autumn. If you just happen to have expertise in video and the livestreaming of meetings, we'd love to hear from you.

Volunteer Roles. LCRF is run entirely through voluntary effort, by eight trustees and an hon. Treasurer. The needs we address grow ever greater, none of us get any younger, and we really need more hands to help develop our activities. In particular, we want our name and our charity to be better known by far more churches in London - so could you help on a voluntary basis as a church support development officer? Minimum commitment would be about half a day a week, more would be better. Read the job spec here and get in touch if you are interested.

Alternatively, perhaps you have other skills you can offer. If you are good on social media, particularly Facebook and Twitter, we could certainly use you! Just email [email protected] if you would like to discuss any involvement.
